shocked to learn that 60% of the herbal products contained
something different than that specified on the label and
that only 2 out of the 12 of the companies were authentic.

Study: Herbal products omit ingredients, contain
fillers
Consumers of natural health products beware. The majority
of herbal products on the market contain ingredients not listed on the label,
with most companies substituting cheaper alternatives and using fillers,
according to new research from the University of Guelph.
The study, published today in the open access journal BMC
Medicine, used DNA barcoding technology to test 44 herbal products sold by 12
companies.
Only two of the companies provided authentic products
without substitutions, contaminants or fillers.
Overall, nearly 60 per cent of the herbal products
contained plant species not listed on the label.
Researchers detected product substitution in 32 per cent
of the samples.
More than 20 per cent of the products included fillers
such as rice, soybeans and wheat not listed on the label.
Medicinal herbs now constitute the fastest-growing
segment of the North American alternative medicine market, with more than
29,000 herbal substances sold.

The most recent Nature’s Sunshine convention was amazing full of incredible documented information. The high light for me was the testimonials shared by many of the top leaders in Nature’s Sunshine.
I loved Diane McLaren’s testimonial at Bronze academy. Diane was diagnosed with MS about 25 years ago when she was enrolled at McGill University Music Degree program and discovered that she could no longer play the piano that she was so talented in playing. I was moved by her story as my son, Devin, received his Music Degree from McGill University. I could not even imagine how difficult it must have been for Diane to give up piano playing knowing how passionate Devin is about playing piano. In listening to Diane’s story I discovered how courageous she was to step outside the box to try an unconventional herbal therapy not recognized by any medical doctor. It was intriguing to find out that Diane took massive doses of some of the Nature’s Sunshine supplements she was using. She worked alongside a very caring Nature’s Sunshine distributor who coached her and guided her. Diane expressed her gratitude to her coach. Today 40% of Americans are choosing natural health therapies
over the accepted conventional treatments. There is a big movement happening in
Canada, in US and in this world. People
of all walks of life are awakening to the most profound discovery which is
“Nutrition makes us tick!”
Junk food makes us sick!
Dr Fuhrman says “There is no such thing as junk food! There
is junk and there is food but there is no junk food!
Think about it “Would you put junk into your gas tank to
fuel up your car?”
Then why would you put junk into your mouth to fuel up your
body?
Not only are we consuming massive amounts of junk with
little nutrients and no mineral content but also our present day foods are
seriously depleted. Agricultural practices have interfered with our plants’
abilities to pick up raw elements from Mother Earth and convert them to bioavailable
minerals for cell repair. There is a
